8 Baby Must Haves: Don’t Forget These Essentials!

05.19.2015 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

It’s unlikely that you’d forget anything you needed for your baby. After all, you’ve got 9 months to prepare; a lot of research can be done in that time! The things on this list might be obvious, but you’ll get a few good tips along the way. Enjoy!

Teething Toys

Baby’s teeth fairly quickly, some faster than others. However, any old teething toy just won’t do. You need Sophie the giraffe! Baby’s love this little giraffe, she’s non toxic, and she’s bound to keep baby quiet. No other teething toy can top this one! This giraffe is so good that people buy her as baby shower gifts and put them in hampers all the time.

A Travel System

A stroller just isn’t enough sometimes. You’re going to need a travel system. Trust me; your life will be made so much easier! You won’t need to wake up your grumpy baby when you’re going out for the day, as you can easily transfer their car seat to their stroller. You’ll thank your lucky stars you did it!

Something to Stop Scratching

Babies and even toddlers like to scratch, which can leave them with sore looking red marks on their face and arms. A product like Scratchsleeves could be the perfect solution. Your baby will be comfortable and there won’t be a red mark in sight.

A Pretty Diaper Bag

The reason your diaper bag needs to be pretty is because it’s going to be your handbag for a very long time. You’ll probably need to use this bag for everything, as it’ll come with you each and every day. Make sure you absolutely love it!

A Baby Carrier

A great baby carrier won’t hurt your back in the slightest. You’ll be able to walk around carrying your baby this way with ease. I recommend trying them on and testing them before splashing the cash!

A Breast Pump

Your breast pump should be durable and high quality in order to ensure it lasts. If you plan on breastfeeding your baby, you’re going to need one of these. Invest in the best one you can afford!

A Travel Chair

A travel chair is a great alternative to a high chair, so you can easily take your baby out to eat with you to restaurants. It just clips on to the side of most tables! It’s good for trips to see the family too. You won’t believe how much time and hassle a chair like this will save you!

The Best Swaddling Blankets

Swaddling blankets come in all different shapes and sizes. Ideally, you’ll get one that is easy to wrap. You don’t want your baby to be able to unravel it too quickly! They should feel secure, like they’re right back in the womb. It helps them to calm down and soothe themselves when they’re feeling grumpy. Make sure you invest in some good blankets for your own sanity!

If you stick to the advice in this guide, you should end up with one very soothed and happy baby. Good luck!

The baby’s skin is really sensitive, which makes it more than easy for them to get a rash or develop an allergy to a certain substance. Baby wipes are great, but cotton balls combined with baby oil are probably the best baby cleanser there is, because it’s gentle and efficient.
