I had a rough year. Well, honestly…I’ve had a lot of rough years. Each rough year I make it through makes me a stronger person though. Let’s just say, I have learned a lot of life lessons. This year I want to focus more on doing things I love. Photography is one of those things. I used to participate in the 365 project, then I got too busy with other things..like being sick…and it was forgotten. Well, this year I am back and I wanted to share my first 5 days with you.
Day 1: Do hard things
1 / 365
“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” ~ Vincent Van GoghI kind of faded out from the 365 Project because my illness got worse. I’m back and my first photo shows my favorite quote and what I have been doing to take my life back from CRPS. GirlonFire is the name I go by now, I really am a girl on fire. It suits me. I’m still sick, it still hurts…but life is short, suck it up and do hard things!
Day 2: Unconditional
2 / 365
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” ~ Anatole France
Day 3: I’m afraid of cats, then I met Eris.
3 / 365
“Every adventure requires a first step. Trite, but true, even here.” ~ Cheshire CatI’ve always had a pretty huge fear of cats. If there is a cat in someones house, I usually do not sit. I stand so I can move quick. We were in need of a barn cat, so we went to the shelter and I saw this girl. I instantly had some weird fascination with her. I stuck my fingers in her cage…this is unheard of with me. We adopted Eris. She is supposed to be a feral, but she loves us and I am not afraid….I think she may be something else…..
Day 4: Blue Eyed Betty Lovin’
4 / 365
“If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.” ~ James Herriot
Day 5: Hank the young rooster
5 / 365
“A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he’ll never crow. I have seen the light and I’m crowing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
Hmmm…don’t know about that….Hank crows night and day 🙂 Hank became part of our family on Thanksgiving day, which was also my birthday. He came to us with Avian Pox. It’s all cleared up now, isn’t he pretty? He is a Cochin Rooster!
So this is my project so far, it’s not too late to join up! You can start whenever you like! I would love for you to come join me!

Beautiful pictures!!
I used to be in a roller derby league. That photo completely took me back. Thanks 🙂
I love day 3! I love the color of the cat. If we had one my boys wouldn’t leave the poor thing alone!
I like the way the warm softness of the images increases the feeling of intimacy in them.
What a great idea! Good luck on your adventure.
What wonderful photos! I keep meaning to join project 365, but then forget. I really would like to sit down this weekend and try to catch up and join. Fingers crossed. 🙂
