The 2015 Chrysler 200 Made Me Feel Like a Star! #DriveChrysler200

12.22.2014 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

I’m going to start this off by saying that I love the cars that Chrysler has put out.  Driving the 2015 Chrysler 200, I felt like I was turning heads…ok I wasn’t, but the car definitely was.  This is one sexy beast!
Chrysler 200
First of all…that is TOTALLY my color!
Chrysler 200
That front end totally screams sporty car and it definitely is.  The get up and go in this car is ahhhhhh- mazing!  I felt like I was back driving a sports car (way back before kids) with a standard transmission (I totally miss driving a standard and while this car is NOT a standard, it sure has that pick up that they do).

The backside is just as awesome as the front!  This is the first car that I have seen in a long time that I was happy with the complete outer appearance.  This car has a secret though…it also works as a family vehicle and it does it well!  Let’s first take a look at the trunk…

I could easily fit 3-4 more children in there.  Trunk room is a huge plus when you have a family.  Most cars that have good looks, have small trunks…not this one though!  Trunk size is great on the Chrysler 200!  Let’s move on to the inside of the car…

The sound system was rockin’ and I sure do love satellite radio! You can also operate the stereo from the steering wheel so no need to take your eyes off the road while turning up the volume to drowned out any squabbling noises coming from the back seat.  In fact, there isn’t too much that you can’t do from the steering wheel!

Another great feature that I love about a lot of the newer cars is the back up cameras!  These should be in EVERY car!
c20010
GPS is also another feature that helps me to feel more confident venturing out of my circle of familiarity!
c20011
A large storage area is great for families.
c2008
Cup holders. I really appreciate cup holders!  I currently drive my dad’s truck and I have to rely on those little plastic window things.  Cup holders are golden!
c20013
A spot to plug everything in…
c20014
A must in any sporty car… a sun/moon roof!  Also, see that handle, my crippled self depends on things like that now.
c2009
See that little cut out area?  That is the PERFECT spot to keep my phone!  It also has a cool little Detroit skyline down there (My home state is Michigan….shhhhhh do NOT tell these Texas people that!)

The dash is sleek and I love that blue lighting…
c20021
There are so many things I love about this car.  There are also a few things that I don’t love.  Few meaning only 2.  The first thing can be seen in this photo below.  See that knob for the lights?
c20020
Here you can see why I don’t love the location of the lights.  My knee is near the light area and a few times I bumped the light knob with my knee somehow and turned the lights on when I was exiting the car.  I would love for that to be in a different location.
c20019
The only other thing that I did not love about the Chrysler 200 was the gear selector.  This is the first time that I have ever been in a car that had a knob for the gear selector.  I am sure in time this is something I could get used to, but let me tell you why I don’t care for it, first look at the photo…
c20012
See, there are several knobs in this area.  I didn’t like having to look down to select a gear, but I pretty much had to in order to locate the correct knob.  I also felt that this could be bad if I was somewhere where I had to quickly back out into traffic and quickly get moving in drive.  Maybe I just did not have confidence within the short time I had the car.  I really would prefer a gear selector that wasn’t so far from the norm I am accustomed to.

Those are really the only things that I did not love about the Chrysler 200, everything else was loved and drool inducing.

If you are a family of up to 5 that loves the sporty look but also needs a roomy car, then I would highly recommend the Chrysler 200!

Here are some other stats for you techy people out there…

  • The Chrysler 200 gets a combined city/hwy 23 MPG.  That is 19 city and 32 highway.  The annual fuel cost for this car is $2,300.
  • The color of the car I drove is called Velvet Red Pearl
  • The interior was Black leather
  • The engine is a 3.6 – liter V6 24 – valve VVT engine
  • Transmission is a 9 – speed 9HP48 Automatic Transmission…yes you read that right…9 speed!
  • There are a ton of airbags in this car!

OHHHHHH I almost forgot!  This car is SMART!  If you start to drift, the car will self correct!  It can also keep you from getting too close to the car in front of you.  There are sensors all over the outside of this car and I love these extra safety features!

Good Things: Freecycle

I love freecycle, but it really makes me mad when someone emails me and says they want something and they can come pick up right away. You make arrangements to be there for them to pick up the stuff you are GIVING them for FREE and then they do not show? What the heck? I […]
