2013, Why You Gotta Be So Mean?

03.24.2013 by Girl on Fire // 13 Comments

2013 was supposed to be the year of good, amazing and awesome things for my family.  Each year it seems my family is hit with some sort of struggle.  With each struggle I get stronger and I try to remain positive.  But when they hit you one after another, well…you start to lose it a bit.

2013 has sucked so far.

SUCKED.dcon

A lot of minor things have hit us, but several big things have hit us as well and pretty much back to back.  The first major thing was that someone poisoned 2 of our dogs.  Thankfully it was caught in time and after being treated for a month, both of the Heelers are just fine.  It was very scary and we had no idea if they would make it.  People are cruel.

thumb

Yea, that right there sucked.

Jeremy cut a good portion of his thumb off.  No usable thumb, means way behind on work.  I was helping as much as I can, but this gave us many trips to the ER.

What could possibly happen next?  Oh yea….

THIS SUCKED!airbags

Yea, that happened Friday night.  Morgan and I were about a mile from the house.  Some idiot pulled out and turned right in front of me.  Both airbags deployed as well slammed right into his drivers side door.  Thank God that we drive a Suburban or our injuries would have been much worse.  We are both bruised and banged up and I was sent to the hospital.

Let me tell you, RSD and car accidents…not good.  My pain levels are through the rough and it is hard for me to even type this.  But I want everyone to know why I have slacked on some of my more personal posts.  Now I am without a vehicle.  Tomorrow I will talk to the insurance company and get the police report.  I do not even know if that man had insurance.  Please pray that he does.  I don’t even know what we will do if he does not have insurance.

So yes, 2013 has sucked.  My family could really use a break.  I didn’t even tell you all of the stuff that has happened, just the biggest stuff.  We could use some good in our lives right about now.

P.S. did I mention that my Nikon was duct taped together?

But, as always…we will keep on keepin’ on!

I fell ya, Brandy. 2012 sucked for us and was the year of the never-ending car repairs. 2013 has started off as the year of the never-ending medical costs.

I hope it gets better. For both of us.

    Hi Brandy,

I hope you and your family are doing better as well as you Heeler’s. Will certainly be praying that the guy has insurance and that all works out in your favor.

    Best Wishes,
    Theresa

Well S###. That does suck. Girl, if you want maybe we can have a “Whine” party and then toast to good luck for the rest of 2013!

I never liked the saying “you’re only given what you can handle…” to that I say, “well I’m not a fan of backbends.”

Maybe Massage Envy will send you a gift card:)

Oh you poor thing! My gosh you’ve had your fill already. You are too nice for all of this stuff to happen to you 🙁 I am glad your dogs are okay – that is just horrible what they did to them.

I hope things get much better for the rest of the year.

    HUGS friend…
