eBeanstalk Durable Toys for Imaginative Play

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I have a hard time picking out toys for the girls.  I want toys that inspire them to play and be creative.  There is a toy website called ebeanstalk who has great baby toys and toys for 1 year olds etc. They are dedicated to selecting good, safe learning toys. The toy they sent me to review is called “Activity Bus” from Plan Toys, who makes eco-friendly wooden toys.   Here is what I think of the toy.

75030_4_activity75030activity04Right out of the box this was a hit with the girls.  They took off with it immediately and play with it pretty much daily!  It is truly a toy that inspires imaginative play.  I love that it is made from wood and not plastic.  This is built to last and take some rough and tumble playtime!

When the girls figured out that the bus opened the imaginative play was fueled!  Suddenly the bus was now a classroom with desks!

This is just the sort of toy I look for while shopping for the girls.  I know they will outgrow the toy before the toy wears out or breaks.  I know I can pass it on to another family member for more years of play.  I love that I don’t have to replace any batteries!  UGH I hate batteries and the itty bitty screwdriver that I can never seem to find to unscrew the battery panel!

Looking through all the toys they offer and making a list!  Christmas is approaching fast folks!  Anyone shopping for my kids, please venture on over to the site…the girls are eyeballing something!

Our New Favorite Friends!

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

_images_product_medium_F659_Monkeys_1Thanks to Rosie Hippo and Buzz Mommy, my little ones now have two new best friends!  I am truly in love with these little critters just as much as Lauren and Emma are!

I love real toys.  I’m not a big fan of today’s toys.  I like toys that encourage imagination and real play.  I think imagination is something that needs to be fed.  Toys that are electronic or digital can not meet those needs the way a real toy can.

This set of two Monkeys is handmade of soft wool yarn with felt eyes,  They retail for $65.  They are sure to be an instant favorite for anyone!  They have such an awesome selection of stuffed animals.  These toys are are extremely well made from quality materials.

Browsing the site and the catalog I have on hand, I can find many other items I would love to buy for my girls!  They have a huge selection of Wooden Toys. The toys they sell are Earth Friendly, Unique, Natural and Handmade.

Rosie Hippo’s awesome selection of imaginative toys are primarily manufactured in Europe, the United States, or as part of fair trade operations, and are made of quality materials, such as sustainable wood and organic cotton.

Rosie Hippo is owned by Kim Bloom. I love that this is a family-owned and operated business! Kim is a cancer survivor who left the corporate world to focus on parenting and running an independent toy boutique and her commitment to cancer, children’s, and environmental foundations. I admire that tremendously!

Thanks so much Rosie Hippo and Buzz Mommy for letting us try out these wonderful products!F659_Monkeys_2
