Archive for whole grain

Have you tried Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch with your family yet?  If you haven’t then you have got to!  It’s a brand new cereal that was just introduced to the shelves in June.

Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch is so yummy!  Who wouldn’t want the awesomeness of brownies for breakfast?

We enjoyed it as a breakfast cereal as well as a wonderful chocolatey snack!

You can rest easy knowing that they are getting at least 8 grams of whole grain, calcium and Vitamin D in every serving.

The girls have been begging me to pick up some next time we stock up on cereal, I can honestly say I am looking forward to it as well!

You can learn more about the benefits of whole grain by visiting Whole Grain Nation.  They have a lot of great information over there, including all the Big G cereals that contain whole grains.  You can also learn a lot about the benefits of feeding your kids cereal as a part of good nutrition by visiting the Grow Up Strong website.

Want to try it for yourself?

I think I may need to add a food section to my site.   In fact I just took photos step by step of some yumminess tonight to be posted with a recipe tomorrow.  I’m always on the lookout for new recipes to try out with the family.  Morgan loves to cook so we do a lot of it here!

Tonight I joined the SPLASH Recipe Club.  Right now you can  find a $1.00 off coupon on the website for any bottle of NAKANO Seasoned Rice Vinegar.  I think we will give it a try.  We are always looking for new products to enjoy and love to get them at a bargain price.

As you have read in previous posts, I am trying to be more healthy in my food choices. I noticed that the NAKANO Seasoned Rice Vinegar is all natural, fat free, low in calories (only 20 calories per tablespoon), gluten free and also has 50% less sodium than other rice vinegar brands.

They make it from whole grain rice and naturally brew it in a traditional manufacturing process that began in Japan more than 200 years ago.

NAKANO Seasoned Rice Vinegars are available several flavors!

  • Original Seasoned
  • Roasted Garlic
  • Basil & Oregano
  • Red Pepper
  • Balsamic Blend
  • Italian Herb.

With all of these fantastic flavors you could use it as a condiment in place of other things such as salad dressing, sour cream or butter. It could be used on salads, pasta, hot vegetables and cut out the fat of those other condiments.
