True Blood :: Not So Average Mama

How do we have Friday night fun? Usually we spend it here at home with our family. Sometimes we have friends over atleast one night on the weekends. Mostly though, we relax and watch a bit of television. Since we don’t pay for any special channels, we usually end up watching movies on DVD, but recently we have been watching a lot of the cable television shows that are out on DVD.

I’m looking into actually purchasing a few of these for us to keep. I’ve grown quite fond of a few of the shows. I actually found an HBO store coupon that I could use to save a bit of money. I started out not being such a huge fan of True Blood, but I continued watching and I have to admit…it grew on me. I just have to keep the books out of my head while watching or it starts bugging me. So I am looking forward to the next season coming out on DVD.

What I am really looking into buying for me is Big Love. I am so infatuated with the life of this dysfunctional Mormon family. I have a weird obsession with them. It’s like a train wreck. At first I was like…oh those poor women married to the same man. After a few episodes that quickly changed to…oh that poor man married to all of those crazy women! I love Big Love.

I love to read books. I used to sit at school and read until they would call me for the bus. I believe I missed the bus several times due to my face being buried in a book. I try to squeeze in reading as much as I can. Yes, I read blogs too, but it is not the same as laying down in bed with a good book.

Right now I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. They made a TV show out of the book series called True Blood. The book and the show are quite a bit different.

In the books I picture Eric as…well…a viking. On the series he is very sissified looking. Not viking like at all. I feel a little jipped. Haven’t the producers seen a viking before? Anyhow, he isn’t fitting my vision of what Eric should be. In the books he is a large powerful viking.

That Tara character in the book is hardly anyone, you don’t hear much from the character and she is a complete opposite of Tara in the series. On the show she is the most loudmouth obnoxious woman ever. If I was to see her I would have to bitch slap. Seriously…someone slap that woman!

Sam in the book is a MAN. On the series…another sissy looking boy. I mean really? Is this the type of guys women are attracted to? I’m sorry but I like MEN that look like men. These feminine boys are killing the show for me. Someone like Bill Paxton should have played Sam.

I hate the way Bill says “Suuuuuukie”.

I hate Sookies brother Jason…what an ugly whore!

I’ve only watched 3 or 4 episodes….I’m sure I will find more about it that I despise. The books are way better!
