So I told you a few days ago about YourSphere.  Morgan is really loving it.  Signing up is super easy!  First I helped Morgan create her free account.  After that, I created my parent account and YouSphere verified my identity.  This was an easy process!  Once my account was verified I was able to activate Morgan’s account from my parent dashboard.

From the parents dashboard I can monitor all activity on Morgan’s account.  I feel better about letting her have the account because I do have access to everything going on.  She gets to have her social network, and I have the confidence of her safety online.

The signup process is very easy to follow, there was no confusion on my end at all…this is a big statement considering since I have been sick I am always confused!  So, if I can manage it, so can you!

You can sign your kids up for their own free account by clicking here and entering YSMC-0002 in the referral box.

Morgan has bugged me atleast once a week for the last year to have a Facebook page.  My answer each time?  “ehhhh, let me think about that….uh No!“  In my opinion Facebook is no place for a kid.  You may have a different opinion, but with all the apps and things I have seen on there…no way is my kid having a Facebook page.

So this went on for like I said…the entire past year.  Recently though, she isn’t asking anymore!  Because now she belongs to a community that is safe for her.  What is this safe haven for teens you ask?  It’s called YourSphere and I am happy to announce that I am a Yoursphere Test Drive Mom for the next three months (May-July).

resized_ys_logo_lrgI’ll be filling you in on a lot of information about YourSphere as I check it out with Morgan.  I would like to have you sign yourself and kids up for a free YourSphere account as well!  You have access to the account with your own parent dashboard.  You can monitor everything easily!

When signing up please add our referral code YSMC-0002 so we can see how many of our bloggy friends join!  You can sign up by clicking here!

dreamstimefree_7966554Apparently, to stay on top of things today you must  read Myspace bulletins and Facebook status’.  I guess the whole give a friend a call thing got lost when texting became a trend.  I’m more oldschool.  Please don’t text me, I would rather you called.  Yea, texting has a place, and on occasion I can understand it’s use, but for a conversation?  Uh, no.  Email is fine, but don’t expect me to know what is going on in your life just because you posted it to Myspace or Facebook.  How am I supposed to keep up?dreamstimefree_1034144

Yes I am a SAHM/WAHM mom, but I am not just sitting here on my ass cruisin’ social media sites.  I’m actually working when I get the chance.  It takes me a lot longer to complete a simple task because unlike people that work outside the home, I am still here with my children.  There are no breaks, no vacations, no peace and quiet. So yea, it may take me 30 min to complete a post that would take an uninterrupted person 10 min.  Graphics may get started and then put on hold until after lunch is made, diapers are changed and cuddling.

I try to be on top of it all, but you know what?  I am human.  I am one person trying to do a crap load of stuff.  I can not do it all, but I sure as hell try. I certainly can not keep up with bulletins and status’.  Sorry.  Maybe I’m just that lame…

~still kickin’ it old school…want my digits?

How about you?  What do you think social media has done to oldschool communication?
