Archive for Raw Honey

I’ve always known that it was a great benefit to our health to consume local honey.  Preferably Raw Local Honey.  When the North Dallas Honey Company asked me to give them a try I was totally down for it.

Consuming local honey can help with your allergies because the honey contains the same pollen that causes allergy symptoms. Local bees…local pollen, local honey.  Simple.  By consuming local honey you are basically building up your immunity.  Honey is also good for a ton of other things, but this reason is why it is important to shop for Honey that is local to you.

Allergies have been really bad for a lot of people this summer.  I know here in Texas that the lack of rain has really made allergies tough.  At our house though we have done great!  I know that is partly due to consuming local honey.

“Our honey is gently warmed and strained through cheesecloth to remove the ‘bee’s knees,’ leaving the enzymes and the antioxidants of the honey,” explained Nathan Sheets, president and owner of North Dallas Honey Company. “We blend a variety of honeys from honey-producing plants, including clover, vetch, wildflower and mesquite, to make our products the best tasting available.”

It tastes delicious! We use honey as a natural sweetener.  I especially love adding it to our Raw “Ice Creams” and oatmeal!  Morgan loves Honey in her tea.  You can feel good about eating honey because it is definitely good for you! Honey from the North Dallas Honey Company is definitely a staple on our grocery list!

Be sure to head over and check out their website! Even if you are not in our area you should still check it out for the wonderful recipes using honey they have!

Raw Honey?

The Winner is comment #54!   I have notified them and they have 48 hours to respond.

Have you ever experienced real raw organic honey? The taste and texture is different than processed honey that you can buy in the store.  I was so surprised at the difference in it.  I love it!

HoneyWe have been using Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey in everything!  We put it in our oatmeal, tea, smoothies, etc! Tropical Traditions gets their honey from beehives placed in isolated areas miles anything! These keeps the honey from being tainted by by products of dense populated areas that are full of industry waste or even traffic pollution.  Areas like this are hard to come by and Tropical Traditions gets it from the frontier areas of Canada!

Science lesson: Did you know that a bee’s flying range is determined by their natural instinct which tells them to stay within their natural four mile range from the hive location?

Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow (same temperatures the honey would see inside the hive). We select only premium honey that is pure, smooth and creamy, with the consistency of soft margarine at harvest. It contains live yeast and enzymes, because it has not been processed. It also contains pollen because it has not been filtered—merely screened.

I am happy to be able to give this pure natural product to my children. Being free of chemicals and other by products makes me feel better about what I am feeding my children as well as myself!
