Psychic Abilities | Not So Average Mama

400_parquette_medium_nbc_mitchellhaaseth Medium is a show that Morgan and I watch together. We watch it on demand so that we can have this time without the little ones. It is a drama inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison DuBois. I didn’t know that until recently though. She is a wife and mother who and has struggled to make sense of her “gift”.

Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette stars as Allison. She is a strong-willed, wife and mother of three girls. She works as a consultant to D.A. Manuel Devalos (Miguel Sandoval), Where she uses her psychic abilities to solve crimes in Phoenix.

Joe DuBois is Allison’s husband(Jake Weber). He is an aerospace engineer and a supportive husband and father. Their daughters, Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva), Bridget (Maria Lark) and Marie (Madison and Miranda Carabello) all seem to have some of their mother’s abilities.

Last season, Allison was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She postponed surgery in order to continue having her visions. After solving one more crime she suffered a stroke and ended up in a coma. I’m anxious to see what happens next!
