Today Lauren learned how to pop wheelies on her bike while I was gone to 4H with Morgan. When I got back home she was super excited to show me her new tricks. I had to share it with y’all! Now to just get rid of those training wheels!
Wishing it would quit raining so we could go fishing again! It’s been raining for days and days!
By the way, this is where Morgan’s clean up will be held.
Morgan met with the Mayor and Town Council Yesterday to discuss her plans for Project Arrowhead. They invited her back in October for a parks and recreation meeting. Way to go Morgan!

Morgan as a clown in the Parade!
I am so proud of the accomplishments Morgan made this past 4H year! It was her first year and she jumped into pretty much everything. She tried to get involved with every project to the best of her ability.
She won medals, ribbons and her District Jacket! She learned about Food and Nurtrition, Public Speaking and Education Presentations, Photography, Clowning and Entomology…just to name a few things!
We are excited to be coming into our second year of 4H! What better way to jump back into things than a Parade! Morgan and the rest of the Denton County 4H clowns participated in the parade this past weekend. They even took first place for best youth float!
Congrats to all of Denton County 4H kids! Y’all are awesome!
Well, You know I am a Test Drive Mom for Frigidaire! Yes, it’s awesome. Well, since they are front loaders Lauren and Emma can easily help. They were so excited that they could reach everything! Check out how awesome they are! In case you are wondering, Lauren recently turned 5 and Emma just turned 3!
Thursday we attended a 4H party! It was so hot, but a great time! I just had sweat pouring down me, ew. They had goats, chickens, horses and even a go cart to ride!
Emma chickened out when it came time to ride the horse, but Lauren atleast got on the horse for a photo! Morgan rode the horse without telling me so no picture of that! She loves horses and will be taking a class starting next week at this same location that is all about horses!
Hope you enjoy the photos!

Thanks for a great time everyone!
I love this photo of Emma. It was taken last week at her Great Grandmothers. She had just went down the little water slide on the pool. She was having so much fun and the expression on her face is priceless. I love my girls so, so much! Bunch of water babies! I need to get them up to the big pool for some fun! We also live right by a waterpark. Last year they had story time on Friday mornings that was free and the little ones got to splash in the water for it. I need to check and see if they are doing that this year.
It doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago when Morgan lost her first baby tooth. She has all kinds of teeth sprouting up now and it has me thinking about those dreaded things called Braces.
I wore braces for a little while. It sucked. Really sucked. My lips would get all torn up and I would get sores all over the inside of my mouth. I would go through a bottle of Chloraseptic spray each week just trying to numb myself to the pain. That stuff was so nasty when you put it on so you can eat.
There seems to be a lot more options for parents now. One that has my attention is Invisalign Teen!
- Developed by leading orthodontists specifically for teens & pre-teens, Invisalign Teen is the nearly invisible way to effectively straighten teeth. This means that your teen won’t have to feel self-conscious during treatment and it won’t interfere with their active lifestyles.
- Invisalign Teen uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth. Since Invisalign Teen is removable, teens can maintain healthy oral hygiene during treatment. A cool feature even helps moms gauge whether their teen is wearing them as much as they should be.
- With a cost comparable to traditional braces and features specifically designed to meet the needs of teens, Invisalign Teen is a great alternative to “metal mouth.”
- Invisalign Teen utilizes an advanced 3D imaging technology which involves taking a set of images at the beginning of treatment to determine the best treatment plan, then documenting the progression of movement through the end result. What’s really cool about this process is that once in treatment, the progress of teeth movement is monitored online so at each appointment, patients can actually see how close they are to achieving the end result. Not only do these clear aligners reduce installation time, but they require fewer visits for adjustments and in many cases, shorter treatment time.
- This is also relevant even for moms with younger children because the American Association of Orthodontists (http://www.braces.org) recommends that all children have a orthodontic check up no later than age 7, as some orthodontic problems may be easier to correct if treated early instead of waiting until the permanent teeth have come in. Pre-teens can also be candidates for Invisalign Teen due to unique “eruption tabs” built into the aligner to accommodate molars that have not yet come in.
As we quickly approach the time of needing Braces I think this is an option I will seriously be considering. I mean, I never smiled those years I had braces…I want to see my kid continue to smile on a daily basis! I received a sample to check out and it is so cool! It’s like nothing! I would have loved these instead of Braces! So go check it out as an alternative to Braces!~
If you have used these I would love to know what you think!
