Oh The Excitement! New Moon and HIT & RUN

Today is going to be a busy fun filled day! First on the agenda is to get my nappy ass ready for the day. Then I will be picking up the sitter, yes I finally have a real babysitter!

twilight_new_moon_new_picture After I have the sitter I have to finish up any last minute details around here, do lunch for everyone…then…Jenny Lee, Hanna, Morgan, the babysitter and Me are on our way to New Moon! Yea, we were not dedicated enough to camp out like I seen those other people doing. Eh…no thanks. I’m not that much of a Twilight nerd lol (sorry Lori)! I did however buy our tickets for today on Friday.

After New Moon we will all head back here to have dinner and the mama’s and I are going out! My Husbands band HIT & RUN will be playing at Andy’s in Denton tonight. If you like to have a good time, then you should definitely join us!

I probably will not have time to post anything else tonight, so watch for my thoughts on New Moon tomorrow! OH, I got my Birthday/Christmas present yesterday! So I am going to try it out tonight. Something I have wanted for many many years! So excited!!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday

Tattoo in progress on Jeremy. We started this last night, it is the first time I have tattooed in over a year. The pain in my arms (fibromyalgia) has really hindered me in tattooing. This is a cover up and we will be going back over the shading and line work after this heals. There is a background that we are going to work on to tie it in to his upper sleeve. Not too shabby considering the pain I have and how long it has been since I tattooed. Artwork is by Chopper and was created by him especially for HIT & RUN (J’s Band). The guy is an amazing artist!

Happy 4th! R.I.P. B.C.!

I wanted to tell everyone to have a happy and safe 4th!

I plan to spend today with my family, as well as remember a friend, Ben Cooksey, who passed last year.

Suicide is one of those things that just sticks with you. My heart goes out to his family today! Remember all the good stuff! B.C. had a lot of friends who miss him dearly! dscf1609

Mama’s Going Out Tonight!

Yes, it’s true! I am leaving my home tonight and going OUT. Like seriously… as in LEAVING the house with just The Man and I. I know it’s hard to believe, I was shocked myself! I’m going to Dallas and hanging out with good friends for a night of Awesomeness! We all need to get our dose of “Good Time” in occasionally!

Even better? My kids are not staying home with a sitter, they are going to their Grandmother’s for a sleepover! That means I will not be jumped on by all my wee ones at 6:30 a.m. No, I will get to sleep in til about 8 a.m. How awesome is that? I know your jealous…mama’s goin’ out!

Where am I going? I am going to Reno’s Chop Shop, hangin’ with the BWB‘s and enjoying a great show tonight! HIT & RUN is playing Dallas for the first time since June of last year. They will be playing with the Hammercocks and I can not wait to see that! Also playing tonight is Baptism by 80 Proof…. I have not seen them before so I’ll let ya know later.

So, what do you like to do for fun when you get that rare moment of someone else keeping the kiddo’s? Do you go out? Do you stay home and take a bath all by yourself? Read a book? Chores? Tell me, I want to know!

It’s funny, the things I do for fun now…..are the same things I did for fun as a teen! I know I’m 34, but I sure don’t feel like it!

Ben Cooksey Tribute Concert! This weekend!

For those of you out there that are just hearing about this tribute concert; let me bring you up to speed……
Saturday, August 30th @ Lonestar Country Club in Coppell, 10 bands, a legion of friends, supporters and music lovers will gather for a full night event to remember and honor the legacy of the late Ben Cooksey who passed away July, 4th 2008. Ben was an accomplished musician who played in several great bands such as Roller, RPB, and Hit & Run. Ben was also part owner of Lone Star Tattoo with his brother, Scott Cooksey.

Ben was a true friend to those who were fortunate enough to have him in thier lives. He was a great son, an awesome uncle and a trusted brother. He was truly one of those guys that would give his shirt off his back if need be.

The concerts proceeds are going toward a monument that will landmark Bens presence in this world. We are encouraging everyone to reach out and support this event.

Even if you didnt know Ben we are inviting you to join us to experience an unforgettable night!

We have 10 bands that are ready to rock and that’s what these guys do best!! This is a powerhouse line-up that will guarantee to host one hellacious party….BC STYLE!!

Doors open at 4pm. First band starts between 4:30-5:00 and we’ll roll till 2am.
