My New Healthy Lifesaver

Ok, I’m going to tell you what has been my lifesaver lately. I’m a smoothie freak, but I burn through blenders like mad! I’m on the lookout for a blender that can match my smoothie wrath. So far…the blender always loses.

So, here I am blenderless and trying so, so hard not to get a Starbucks or a Bahama Bucks.

I need a dang smoothie!

Being an on the go mom it can be hard to get in a good meal. I’m really trying to be healthier and going to the gym. I need something fast that I can take with me. I recently got a chance to try out Mix1 and that totally filled my smoothie void!

Mix1 has two products. The original product is an enhanced protein shake. It has 15 grams of whey protein isolate, 23 vitamins and minerals and the antioxidant equivalent of 3 servings of fruits and vegetables! The newest product is a hi-antioxidant fiber drink. It has the antioxidant equivalent of 9 servings of fruits and vegetables, 9 grams of whey protein isolate, and 8 grams of soluble fiber.

Why are antioxidants important?

Antioxidants absorb free radicals in the human body. Free radicals can break down healthy cells and potentially lead to a variety of health problems, sickness and disease. It is important to get antioxidants in order to neutralize cell-damaging free radicals.

The enhanced protein shake is a great workout shake. It provides up to 4 hours of balanced energy! The hi-antioxidant shake is best consumed with a meal or as a snack.

These drinks are thick! It is truly like drinking a smoothie! They really make you feel like you are having some sweet treat, not something good for you. But, they are good for you! Perfect for someone like me that just needs a little bad goodness, without really being bad! I am not ever hungry in the mornings but I know I need to have something to make my metabolism work right. These are perfect for me to drink and give me a good burst of energy that I need to get going in the morning.

I also do not consume enough protein in my diet which is very important for my health and weight loss. By drinking Mix1 I am getting a very good source of protein.

I had the kids taste test these too and they were a huge hit! I love them, the kids love them. I would say we will definitely add these to the shopping list!

A New Way to Get Your Fruit!

Recently my family and I were able to try Fruit2Day. Fruit2Day is an all natural fruit drink. It contains no added sugars, only 110-120 calories and contains 2 full servings of fruit!

I have been blogging about the health changes I am making and this has been a great addition! By drinking a Fruit2Day drink I am able to quickly and easily consume 2 servings of fruit! They have diced up chunks of fruit and placed them in an all natural fruit juice blend. You drink it and chew it, and they are very filling!

This is just the pick me up I need when I am feeling low. It gets my blood sugars up in a natural way and makes me feel full enough to keep on keeping on! It’s so much more than drinking a glass of juice, this is a snack! productspineapplebanana

My absolute favorite is the Pineapple Banana! The only thing that could make it better would be adding Coconut to that mix! Yum! Morgan’s favorite was the Cherry Grape. We actually loved all the flavors!

ZenSoy Organic Pudding

chocolatepuddingnewlowres Recently we were able to try out ZenSoy Organic Pudding. WOW! I am not a big dairy person, I don’t drink milk and normally I don’t even eat pudding. This pudding has absolutely no dairy!

I love soy milk so I was anxious to give this product a try, especially with the kids. It was a huge hit! We were able to try Chocolate, Vanilla, Chocolate Vanilla Swirl and even Banana!

Over here with my gang, the Banana was definitely the favorite! It tasted almost exactly like Banana Nut Bread! To me pretty much anything made with soy has that awesome nutty taste.

ZenSoy Pudding is free of dairy (no eggs, lactose or casein), free of nuts and also gluten.

ZenSoy Pudding is parent and doctor-approved! They are low in fat and sodium and provide a great source of calcium, vitamins B12, B2 and D.

Research shows that soy protein contributes to stronger bones.

I’m anxious to give some of the other products a try such as ZenSoy Soy on the Go drink. It is available in Chocolate, Cappuccino, and Vanilla. Mmmmm Cappuccino, that’s right up my alley! The Soy on the Go drink includes vegetarian Omega-3 DHA which is shown to help boost brain function.
