I would like to think of myself as a fairly smart girl…don’t get me wrong,  I have my occasional bouts of “no common sense” syndrome.  I seem to have episodes of this more and more frequently as I get older.

My recent ordeal with this was Wednesday.  We had Disney On Ice which was fantastic….it was what we had planned before that where the stupidity crept in………

OK, it’s spring break here.  Two of my friends and I say…oh hey let’s take all of the kids to the zoo! Great fun right?  Yea, maybe if you are smarter than us and actually do a little better thinking.

  • Don’t go to the zoo with a whole  load of kids on 1/2 price day, during Spring Break. It is a not so smart, totally a “non-thinkin’ through” kind of thing to do!
  • Don’t go to the zoo on 1/2 price day, during spring break at one of the most popular zoo’s around….maybe go to the one where the Gorillas occasionally maul a few people…it is surely less crowded there…right?
  • Don’t go to the zoo on 1/2 price day, during spring break at a jam packed zoo the day before you start your period! This is especially true if you are a crazed hormonal freak (like one certain Not So Average Mama) who may choke and injure people.

Please please please…think things through!  Don’t be a dumb-ass like me!

Wednesday night we attended Disney On Ice here in Dallas.  It was opening night and it was fantastic!  I highly recommend this for anyone’s family.  My 3 girls were amazed and speechless….from the almost 11 yr old right down to the 2 yr old.  No one even had to go to the potty!  That right there tells you how awesome it was!

We got to start the evening out with a meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie.  I took my oldest and my 2 friends boys in to that.  It’s funny, the boys all acted like they were too tough to meet Minnie and Mickey, but when it came down to it you know they were all giddy!

After the Meet and Greet I went to gather up my other children and swap the boys back to the moms.  I was a bit nervous because it would be me and the 3 wee ones all alone!  However, once I seen my seats….holy cow!  They were right at the ice!  The girl’s couldn’t have been on better behavior than what they were.  It was amazing!
Donald Duck and Mickey
Emma couldn’t believe that right there in front of her was Donald Duck and Mickey! Eyes lighting up with every new character that came out.  Lauren was down right speechless!  That is a feat in itself!  I think we may plan to do this every year.  I think most people that I talked to said that Lilo & Stitch was the favorite of the night.  The kids were cracking up and to be honest, so were the adults.  Emma was up and dancing like a mad woman!
