As part of my “Getting Hitched” series I am focusing on families as well. They are part of the whole “Getting Hitched” thing too ya know! So, I want to tell you about a book I recently read called “Frazzled Moms’ Devotions to Go” written by Rochelle Valasek, from the Moms’ Devotions to Go Series.
I’m a mother to 3 girls that I love dearly, but quite honestly…sometimes I want to scream for everyone in this house including the J-man to leave me the heck alone for 5 min! Seriously, I want to have a chance to go poop all by myself. I want to shower for more than 2 min and maybe even shave my legs! When I get in these Frazzled Mommy moments I feel horrible. I love them all. It’s nice to know that pretty much every mom gets like that.
Frazzled Moms’ Devotions To Go (978-0-9776500-9-5) covers all the ?mommy types.? From scripture meditations and devotions to activities to build their relationship with God, their family and friends, and the stranger in the mirror, this devotional will touch mothers of all ages. Frazzled Moms touches on real issues with laughter and encouragement. It leaves the reader enlightened and feeling God?s presence and peace. The prayer for each day is an example of real prayers. Not flowery ones that you find in most devotionals. This shows the readers that they can speak with God in their own voice; there is not a special way to speak with God, just be that child that He calls for. This devotional is unique compared to the others because it reaches all types of moms, with all types of needs.
This book seriously made me feel better. When I do get a moment to actually have some peace, I can read a little here and there. There are stories, ideas and activities to calm your spirit.
Being a frazzled mom is not uncommon. We are the majority. We are the moms that everyone thinks has it together, and we do…but we are still allowed to have a freak out once in awhile too!
I have been sent some copies of the book to give away in anyway I choose. I am going to give 2 away here on the site. The other 3 I am sharing with some local moms that I think would appreciate them.
Bonus Entries:After completing the main entry you can do any or all of the following. Each task earns you another entry, so be sure to comment separately for each one!
