Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus 2011!

Last night my family and I attended the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus: Barnum 200 on opening night in Dallas, Texas! We left home super early to avoid the traffic during rush hour, which gave us sometime to kill downtown walking around with the girls.

We were invited to attend the opening night pre-show party again this year. They invite members of the press as well as a handful of bloggers like me. I get to see some of my blogger friends in real life at these events! My little ones were being freaky about the clowns again this year, but Morgan found a clown she loved!

She also was able to get her photo taken with the Lion Tamer as well as part of the Torres family who ride the motorcycles!

Finally Lauren got brave and decided to get her photo taken with some of the dancers! I know Lauren looks like some scary creature with her glowing eyes! I was shooting with my cell phone and everything was kind of hectic and I didn’t get to take a retake!

The girls were super excited over the lions!

I thought the Side Show was super cool!

My favorite part of the circus is the Torres Family! They actually fit 7 Motorcycles in the ball! Amazing!

And who couldn’t love these adorable creatures…..

So once again we had a wonderful time at the circus! Thank you Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and Feld Entertainment for providing us with this awesome night!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey are Coming Back to Dallas! Giveaway!

It’s that time again folks! The circus is on it’s way back to town and I have tickets to giveaway! First I want to tell you about some other things that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey have going on.

First of all there is a military discount available to service members. You can get more info by clicking that link.

Second, a reminder that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey offer Baby’s First Circus program for parents of newborns (up to 12 months old and living in the continental United States). Your baby will get a free ticket!

Third, Reading with Ringling Bros. is back again! Kids from ages 2-12 can visit participating libraries and earn a free ticket to the circus by simply doing their summer reading.

PETA Pissed Me Off!

Before I get started, let me tell you that I’m all about loving animals (unless it is a cat or a bird of course..oh and those damn Spider Monkeys)…however…PETA pissed me off!

I totally believe in free speech. I think you can say whatever the heck you want. If I don’t want to hear it, then I don’t have to listen. What I don’t believe in or agree with are some of the tactics used. I do not appreciate you trying to scare my children!

We were so excited to attend the Circus in Dallas! My girls had never been and just could not wait. Then I get these people with megaphones frightening my children! Screaming about animal abuse and other things that my young children did not need to have shoved in their faces.

So PETA, I guess emotional abuse on a child is OK? Scaring the crap out of my kids and thousands of others? Was that your goal? My oldest daughter was extremely upset and you pretty much ruined her whole night. Way to go!

There are much better ways to go about spreading your word. Don’t shove it in my face and try to force feed it to my family. So yea PETA, you pissed me off and can pretty much kiss my ass…Your tactics suck and you’re morals are lacking.

Maybe the next time y’all have an event I can show up with a megaphone and scream about how PETA chooses to frighten and emotionally abuse young children.

The Girls First Circus!

Anticipation! Thanks to Mom Central and Feld Entertainment, my family and I were able to attend the circus this year. We had great seats and a super time! You can not use a camera with flash there so I did not get very many usable shots. I did get a video of the very beginning of the show to share with you all.

The show was action packed from start til finish. There were things that I had never seen before. For instance, you know how the people ride the motorcycles in the ball cage? I think usually there is maybe two? Uh, well they blew my mind and fit seven in there! I was on the edge of my seat…it made me nervous and excited all at the same time.

clown The main clown was hilarious! I normally don’t like clowns, but this guy was genuinely funny! The kids laughed so much that night! His name is Tom Dougherty and he was awesome!

Tom describes his clowning style as more improvisational and “a bit edgy,” drawing from his varied artistic influences and earning him the title of “Clown Eccentric”. Tom considers clowning a noble profession, if not something even greater. “A clown is a magical creature, with all the powers of a magical creature.”

The girls loved the man that walked upside down and said he was the favorite performer besides the clown I mentioned above.

I’m Going to The Circus, Do You Want to Go Too?

Attention Dallas/Ft. Worth people!

Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Over the Top circus will be coming to Dallas/Fort Worth in July!

First of all…I have a coupon code for you just like I did for Disney on Ice! The coupon code will again be MOM-for four tickets for $44, any additional tickets are still priced at $11. Just visit Ticket Master to purchase!

Be sure to get to the arena early to check out the Animal Open House and the All Access Preshow. At the Animal Open House, which begins at 6:00pm, you can see the furry stars up close before their big performances. The Preshow begins at 6:30pm and will give you a chance to head down to the circus floor to meet the performers, get autographs, try on costumes, and clown around! These two extras are free for all ticket holders!

The circus will be in our area at the American Airlines Center & Ft. Worth Convention Center.
