I’m making my summer reading list! I have to make the list or I will forget what I want to read. My brain has gotten soooo bad. Blah. Right now I am working on a list of Autobiographies that I would like to read. Some of those below are not Autobiographies, but I’m still lumping them together in this list. I would love for you to add some suggestions in the comments of books that you think I would like to read. Just click the images for a description!
I can not wait until tonight! There are not very many shows that I watch on a regular basis, but Dexter is one of the ones that I can not wait until the next episode! When the season ends I miss watching it so much and wait anxiously for it to come back on.
Tonight I will get to watch two awesome shows back to back. Dexter and Boardwalk Empire! If you haven’t watched these two shows, check them out! If you are anything like me you will absolutely love these two shows! Read More→

I received a complete Harry Potter Box set to facilitate my review for my participation in this Scholastic campaign. All opinions are 100% my own and no monetary compensation was received.
I love to read books. I used to sit at school and read until they would call me for the bus. I believe I missed the bus several times due to my face being buried in a book. I try to squeeze in reading as much as I can. Yes, I read blogs too, but it is not the same as laying down in bed with a good book.
Right now I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. They made a TV show out of the book series called True Blood. The book and the show are quite a bit different.
In the books I picture Eric as…well…a viking. On the series he is very sissified looking. Not viking like at all. I feel a little jipped. Haven’t the producers seen a viking before? Anyhow, he isn’t fitting my vision of what Eric should be. In the books he is a large powerful viking.
That Tara character in the book is hardly anyone, you don’t hear much from the character and she is a complete opposite of Tara in the series. On the show she is the most loudmouth obnoxious woman ever. If I was to see her I would have to bitch slap. Seriously…someone slap that woman!
Sam in the book is a MAN. On the series…another sissy looking boy. I mean really? Is this the type of guys women are attracted to? I’m sorry but I like MEN that look like men. These feminine boys are killing the show for me. Someone like Bill Paxton should have played Sam.
I hate the way Bill says “Suuuuuukie”.
I hate Sookies brother Jason…what an ugly whore!
I’ve only watched 3 or 4 episodes….I’m sure I will find more about it that I despise. The books are way better!
We are huge fans of Klutz books in our home. Not too long ago I reviewed The Encyclopedia of Immaturity. We have had so much fun with that book!

When it comes to talking to children about feelings, sometimes it helps to have a tool to assist you. Joy Berry has a whole series ofbooks on feelings for young children. The books are from the Let’s Talk About series. The books have great illustrations and come with a CD so they can listen and read along by themselves.
The books are great at showing kids that it is OK to have the feelings they do. It’s OK to get angry or afraid. The books also offer kids suggestions on what they can do to help resolve these feelings in a good way. How to release anger in ways that do not hurt others.
My girls have had me read the books to them many times. Again and again. Lauren can tell you pretty much everything about feelings now. She was listing all of her feelings for me the other day. She was also telling me what she can do to help herself feel better when she is angry or afraid.
These are great books for any parent to have on hand to help explaining some of these feelings that all kids have.
I was sent copies of Joy Berry’s books to review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
….and quite honestly….so am I! She read through “Twilight”in less than a day and a half. This was with me forcing her to lay the book down and interact with the human life surrounding her. Same thing with book two, “New Moon”.
Friday night we caught the movie at the Dollar Theater (really $2.00, but still a steal). I was immediately pulled into this love story and I knew there was no way the movie could even come close to the written words.
I am just now reading the first book…it’s a bit hard to find the time to read in this house. As soon as I sit down with the book someone is calling me from another room. I am sure you know how that is.
There is just something about the story that really pulls you in. Like right now I am anxious to hit publish on this blog so I can continue reading. It’s one of those stories that you don’t want to end.
Other than reading, today has been kind of an uneventful day. I’m sick and it sucks. The weather here is to blame I am sure. One minute it is in the 80′s, the next down to freezing.
I did complete a T Shirt Design for HIT & RUN, and it turned out pretty flippin’ sweet! I’ll wait to post a picture until the shirts are actually available. I posted it here.
Tomorrow is 4H, a short day though. Morgan is taking a technology class and tomorrow they have computer lab at the library. I’m thankful for the short day since all I really want to do is chill.
