Wordless Wednesday, Playing Catch Up!

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Wow, Wednesday again already?  Things have been busy busy busy as always around here.  I am taking the Neurontin and have been on it for over a week now.  Next Saturday the dose will double up.  We shall see….it doesn’t make me tired like they said it will, so maybe they will give me something to help me sleep.  The pain is still there for sure.

Tomorrow I have a check up with the OBGYN who preformed my surgery.  I think everything is doing good with that besides the fact that my belly is now deformed and lumpy.  She said it would go away, I hope she is right…I really don’t like being lumpy! Weight is coming off and that makes me super happy!  Courtney took a photo of me and posted it to her facebook.  Normally I would have been bitchin’ at her about double chins and crap, but guess what…I didn’t even look fat in the photo!  That is progress!

I went out Friday night with the J-man, his band (HIT & RUN) was playing.  It’s been 2 years since Ben died and they played at one of Ben’s favorite venues called The Doublewide.  We had a great time and I even got to meet some of my Facebook friends in person.

Monday Emma was running a fever.  So pitiful.  It only lasted one day and one night and all is good with her today.  Doesn’t she look so sweet here…

Yesterday I went to the thrift store and dropped off a Suburban load of stuff!  Yes!  I emptied 6 totes in our garage of stuff!  All gone and available to clutter up someone elses house.  Still working on getting the house more decluttered.  It’s coming along though.  Anyhow, while at the thrift store I noticed they were having sales on everything.  Most things were 20% off and I scored this beauty!

So what’s going on with you?

I wanted to tell everyone to have a happy and safe 4th!

I plan to spend today with my family, as well as remember a friend, Ben Cooksey, who passed last year.

Suicide is one of those things that just sticks with you.   My heart goes out to his family today! Remember all the good stuff!  B.C. had a lot of friends who miss him dearly!dscf1609

Out of the Darkness walk

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Yesterday my friend Misti, all of my children and myself joined with the Cooksey Family and walked in the Out of the Darkness Walk. It was a 5K walk for Suicide prevention and awareness. Our team raised $1700 to help fund this great organization. Below are some pictures I managed to take while walking Saturday. It was a great time for a great cause and I am so happy we could be there!

Sponsor me at Out of the Darkness

Monday, September 29th, 2008

As you know, our friend Ben Cooksey committed suicide in July. His family has set up a walk team and we have joined it.

My goal is only $100, I hope to exceed this. If everyone that reads my blog, or has me on myspace or in a yahoo group just donated $1.00 I would meet this goal of $100 and surely go over it.
I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide this fall to walk in AFSP’s 2008 Out of the Darkness Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 32,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP’s mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.I hope you will consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click the “Support This Participant” button on this page.Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Double Espresso please!

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

OH boy what have I gotten myself into? The girls had 4H sign ups today. Lauren is 4 so she is old enough for Clover Kids. Morgan and Lauren both signed up for 5 classes each! I have no idea what to expect. No clue what all is involved. I am clueless. Yes clueless. Yea, that’s right.

This weekend is the Ben Cooksey Memorial show and we will be there in full force. BWB from Texas, Arkansas (now TX), and even California. The BWB girls in GA have their own thing going on at the Drive Invasion. Both events outside in the heat. Fro’s galore. No one rocks a Fro like Jessica, but I am working on it.
I think I need a turbocharger installed in my brain. That would make things much easier.

Oh yea…we (Morgan, but you know it is a WE since someone has to get her there right?) are also going to be joining an American Girl Book club as well. Am I nuts?

Remembering a Friend, helping a family

Saturday, July 5th, 2008
Taking this time to remember a friend and to reflect on life. Ben Cooksey was a very talented person. He was a musician, an artist, a friend, a son, a brother, and an uncle. I am sure he has made an impact in many peoples lifes over the years, and will be missed by many. I am sharing some of my photos here of him and hope that people will take the time to pray for his family in this horrible time. To help his family with expenses we are selling HIT & RUN cds. If you can, please order one below or visit HIT & RUN. I think the first picture is very suiting. Looking back in the rear view mirror. Looking back like I know all of you are doing trying to figure out what could have been done or said to change this all. Instead look back and think of all the good times, that is how I am sure he would want it.
