I am so hoping that this movie is going to be rated PG, because I really want to take all of the girls to see it.  As of right now though, it says it has not yet been rated.

Watch the trailer!  Also, keep your eye on my site for a giveaway related to this movie in the near future!

This spectacular reimagining of the classic fairy tale stars Oscar® winner Julia Roberts as the Queen, Lily Collins (The Blind Side) as Snow White, Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as Prince Alcott, Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones”) as the King and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the Queen’s hapless and bungling servant, Brighton. When an evil queen steals control of Snow White’s kingdom, the exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright. Mirror Mirror is a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.

Visionary director Tarsem Singh (Immortals) rewrites fairy tale history as a wicked enchantress (Roberts) schemes and scrambles for control of a spirited orphan’s (Collins) throne and the attention of a charming prince (Hammer). When Snow White’s beauty wins the heart of the prince that she desperately pursues, the Queen banishes her to the forest, where a ravening man-eating beast hungrily awaits.

Rescued by a band of diminutive highway robbers, Snow White grows into an indomitable young woman determined to take back her realm from the treacherous Queen. With the support of her subjects, she roars into action in an epic battle that blends spectacle, magic and contemporary humor in Singh’s signature, jaw-dropping visual style.

Short on gift ideas for your Valentine, and even shorter on money? Don’t let advertisements talk you into spending enormous amounts of cash this February in your efforts to prove your love to your significant other. Instead, opt for giving a less expensive homemade gift. Not only will it be cheaper, but the effort you put into it will mean it comes closer from the heart than something store-bought.

In need of some ideas? Consider the following five:

Gift basket: You can put together a Valentines gift basket on your own with less than $10 in materials and the cost of whatever you choose to include. Stop by a crafts store and buy a high-handled wicker-basket and nab some translucent plastic wrap of an appropriate color for your loved one. Pack it with edibles, toiletries, or whatever you feel your significant other will appreciate. Wrap it in the plastic, add a bow, and you’re good to go.

Baked goods: This can work well in conjunction with the aforementioned gift basket. Whether it’s cookies or a red velvet cake, creating a comforting culinary concoction is one of the best homemade ways to say I love you to someone. You can even get creative with coloring and shape to turn standard sweets into something special for the holiday.

Mix tape: Whether via CD, MP3, or an actual cassette tape (good luck making it and finding somewhere to play it) you can quite easily compile a specific list of songs for your loved one that he or she is sure to appreciate. Every couple has “their” song while most couples have quite a few. Put them all on one playlist and give it as a gift.

Love letter/Handcrafted card: Personally there is no Hallmark card in the world that could ever surpass the sentiment of something my husband wrote or made himself. You don’t have to be Balzac to write a beautiful letter, nor do you have to be Mary Engelbreit to design a memorable looking card. Thought and effort goes a long way in the eyes of a loved one.

Kind gestures in general: It may not seem romantic, but taking a day off of work to paint the kitchen or tackle some other big household project is a great way to make your significant other happy without dropping enormous amounts of money. Nothing says “I love you” more than some elbow grease without prompt.

Before giving into radio ads that trick you into thinking this is the Valentine’s Day to remember by spending big, think about ways to make it memorable on the cheap. Home-made gift ideas are probably your best bet. They’re mostly easy to make or easy to do, cost little to achieve, and are a much better gauge for determining the intensity of your devotion to a particular person. Anyone can buy a gift, it takes true love to sit down and make one.

I worry!  I worry all the time about my kids.  The little ones are not ever outside alone.  Morgan, because she is older has more freedom.  It doesn’t mean I worry less…in fact if I could have my way I would not let her out of my sight either.  That wouldn’t be fair to her though…ugh.

I do feel better knowing that Morgan does have a cell phone though.  Knowing she can call me if she needs me and I can call to check on her as well.

Have you heard of Moby?  It’s a smartphone app for mom’s and families so you can privately share your location with the people that matter to you.  You can use Moby with Android and iPhone and be able to see each other’s real-time location on a map!   You can turn your location sharing off easily if needed.

There is also a Check In & Request Check In funtion!  You can use the Check In feature to quickly send your current location and a short message to one or more of your contacts, or ask that one of your Moby friends checks in with you.

When you are considering gifts for others, what do you think about a watch?  I know I have blogged about this several times and I really am looking for the perfect watch as a gift for Jeremy.  Most likely leaning towards Seiko watches.  It’s a brand that comes to mind immediately when I think of watches.

I know a lot of people have quit wearing watches because of always having their cell phones on them.  Honestly I don’t always have my cell phone on hand and get quite sick of having to dig it out just to see the time.  I miss having a watch.  When I am out shooting (photos), it would be so much easier to glance at my wrist and quickly see the time.

I also think that it is better for keeping track of your time spent doing things.  Time escapes me because I do not constantly pick up my phone and look to see how long I have been at something.

Jeremy loves to fish.  He keeps his phone in the glove box on the boat to keep it safe.  If he had a nice water proof watch he would still have access to the time.  I think one that shows the moon phases would be brilliant for him.  Engraving it would make it a special, useful keepsake.

Who would you buy a watch for?
