If you want to make sure your kid’s have a wonderful personal space that they call their own, you’ll want to focus on designing an awesome bedroom for them. This guide is going to help you to figure out how your kid’s bedroom should look. Enjoy!
Consider Your Kid’s Age and Personality
Consider your kid’s age and personality before you decide on anything. If they are a lover of cartoons, you could potentially select a wallpaper that has their favorite character on it. However, you’ll also need to think about their age. Will the outgrow this character in a year? 6 months even? You don’t want to have to redecorate every few months, so make sure you choose something that will last at least a couple of years.
Soothing Color Scheme
A soothing color scheme is best in your kid’s bedroom. You don’t want the colors to be too stimulating, or they could lie awake all night. Colors like bright red and orange should be avoided. Colors like blue and green can be more relaxing. Look up the different moods of colors and see what you can come up with. Using different shades of pastel colors is usually a safe bet.
Get Some Chalkboard Paint
Chalkboard paint is a lot of fun and allows your child to add their own personal touch to their bedroom. They can draw pictures, write something, whatever they want. Just make sure they know that they can’t do this in any other room in the house, and that they must stick to the chalkboard wall. You don’t want to wake up with kid-style hieroglyphics all over the house.
TV Or No TV?
The debate rages on about whether kids should have a TV in their bedroom. Even adults argue over whether they should have a TV in their bedroom! The TV can be too stimulating before bed, so it isn’t a good idea to get your children used to watching it before they fall asleep. However, if used sensibly, a TV in the bedroom should be fine. You don’t want any light it emits to disrupt their sleep, so make sure it isn’t left on standby overnight. If you want to save a little money on your TV, you can find Sears coupon codes and similar discounts to help you.
Cozy Reading Area
Encouraging your kids to read is one of the best things you’ll ever do for them. It can improve so many skills, like their speaking, listening, creativity…the list goes on. Why not create a cozy reading area for your child in their bedroom? Give them somewhere super comfy to relax with a book, such as a huge beanbag. Make sure they have a bookshelf filled with great reads too!
What do you think of these ideas for your kid’s bedroom? With these tips you’ll ensure they are getting a great night’s sleep, encourage their reading ability, and give them a wonderful space to call their own. Leave tips of your own below. Come back soon!
