I had never driven a Toyota 4Runner (new or old) before. I really had no idea what to expect. We received the Toyota 4Runner to review for 7 days. It was brought to us right as we were moving most of our things into storage. If you are a regular reader, then you know that my Suburban was totaled in March, leaving us as a 1 car family for the time being.
But then I went around to the back seats and laid them down. Wow, talk about a lot of room! I was able to load in everything needed for a cabinet door install!
That is a lot of room! I also loaded this baby up several times to move things to storage! I was amazed at what could be fit in!
The Toyota 4Runner is a sharp looking vehicle! It has come a long way with it’s appearance over the years!
The back seat had plenty of room for my 3 girls, but it did lack enough cup holders. They have cupholders in the center pull-down, but if you are using that seating area then what? I would have liked to have saw some cup holders on the back of the front center console like my Suburban has. I think that is my only complaint on the vehicle.
There was also plenty of room in the front…
I have to say, this has been one of the most comfortable vehicles I have ridden in lately. With my CRPS/RSD, sitting in cars for too long can sometimes throw me into a pain flare which then causes swelling in my knees. I drove the heck out of the 4Runner and for the most part was pretty ok! That is saying a lot about the comfort!
The steering wheel was easy to hold with not too many buttons on it. I like simple things. Control of the 4Runner was a breeze!
The large speedometer and gauges was another plus for me. It was easy to find everything on this vehicle!
Loved the stereo and GPS. So easy to use and great sound!
Gas mileage was definitely better than my Suburban. I truly enjoyed driving the Toyota 4Runner and I think it is a great, safe family vehicle! I would totally choose the third row seating option, that was not on the model I drove. More seating is always a good thing. I love that it is a great around the town vehicle, but you could also take it on trips, camping, fishing etc! We could have totally pulled our boat with this. I can’t wait to see what else Toyota has available! Make sure you check out all the techie details on the Toyota 4Runner website.
We were provided use of the Toyota 4Runner for 7 days to facilitate this review. No compensation was received and all opinions are our own.
