My oldest daughter Morgan is an awesome baker. She has been baking for a few years now and just has this natural talent for it. I’m not sure where this talent comes from, while I am a good cook…I fail horribly at baking.
Last year Morgan took orders at Christmas as well as fundraising with her baking. This year she did a fundraiser for the foster kitty Louie. Her items were a hit and she is starting her own business. She is serious and dedicated.
She set up a Facebook fan page for Batter UP! and is ready to take some Christmas orders. A portion of all proceeds is used to help animals at the Lake Dallas Animal Shelter. In fact, she just purchased Louie’s vaccines to provide a certificate to his adoptive family to take some of the initial financial responsibility off.
She will also be saving to buy a car. She will be 15 next April and really wants to buy her own car to learn to drive in next year.
I am by no means a perfect mom, but I sure have raised some amazing, giving kids!
I would love it if you would support Morgan in her business venture by liking her page on Facebook. If you’re local (we live in Lake Dallas, Texas), maybe you will want to give her baking a try by placing an order...I suggest the maple bacon cupcakes. Yum!
