My girls love things that are hands on, things they can build and create!  That is one of the reasons I was excited about the CALABOT DIY Robot Kit from Creative Toyshop.  We have built a Calafant cardboard toy before and the girls had a blast building and decorating it.  Last time they built a dollhouse.

The CALABOT robot was a little harder to build than the dollhouse.  This one needed my assistance, but the girls were still thrilled with the process.

It’s made from recycled cardboard that is covered with a white paper so that they can decorate the robot once assembled.

All of the pieces come pre-cut and pre-punched. You just take it from the box, follow directions and build a robot! You don’t need any extra tools. No scissors, no glue and no tape!
Assembled size is approximately 21″ x 16″ x 9″ Recommended for 5 and up.

I recommend this as a great gift idea.  It’s definitely great for a family project together.  They have many other cardboard toys you can build.  It was also a fun educational project as well!  He even has moving parts!  Emma likes to pull him around the house!

The girls thought it was so cool that they could color their new friend!

The CALABOT is a unique gift for any little tinkerer, and it makes a great project to enjoy with your child. Not only is it fun to build this item with your children, it’s even more fun to see your children express their ideas by decorating and playing with the “Calabot”. This robot doesn’t come with batteries, lights and built-in motors. It’s a refreshing take on an old-school idea: doesn’t just watch, do something! Do something creative.
