I’m not the brightest girl in the world when it comes to planning trips. I keep planning trips all the way to the east coast from Texas. Just me and 3 children!
The first time is when I flew from Dallas to Savannah with a 4mo old, a 2 yr old and an 8 yr old. I really thought it would be a piece of cake to fly there instead of drive. I had Emma in a sling, Lauren in a stroller and then Morgan there to assist.
I didn’t think about trying to hold onto an infant, a toddler and keep my eye on Morgan as I tried to collapse the umbrella stroller on my own. Did you know not one person stopped to assist me. I even had my carry-on bag for diapers and no one…not one person ever offered a hand. I couldn’t believe it.
I also did not factor in the changing of flights in Atlanta. Talk about a nightmare. 15 min to travel from one side of that humongous airport to another toting 3 children. Not fun. Next time I’m taking a friend.
Or what about the time I thought it was a great idea to drive all the way from Dallas to Savannah in a car. Just me…and 3 children. Thank God I have some amazingly behaved kids. I never would have survived if I had “those kids”, you know the ones you look at while out shopping and realize just how lucky you are.
Next time I fly I am going to get someone to make my arrangements for me so that I can have a flight that is non stop without paying an arm and a leg. I would even give my arm and leg to avoid switching flights. Next time I will contact a company like JetSetVacations to handle it all for me.
