I don’t know about your kids, but my kids are freaking out over the new movie Lemonade Mouth! With actors they love from their favorite Disney shows as well as a Disney new comers that look a little bit like a young Johnny Depp….of course I get the madness!
I just so happened to have met this Disney new comer while I was at the Gnomeo & Juliet after party in Hollywood. I have a photo of him that he posed for, but I do believe it is stuck on my external hard drive right now from when my computer crashed. I’ll be sure to track it down and post it to my flickr.
By the way his name is Blake Michael. He already has that mysterious guy stuff going on. He was just all by himself leaning against a wall when suddenly he was surrounded by all of us moms. He didn’t seem too frightened of the mom crew and was totally happy to talk to us. That is where I first heard about Lemonade Mouth.
Lemonade Mouth has a great message in it, especially tweens and young teens. It reminds me a bit of the Breakfast Club…but child friendly of course and they accomplish much more than the Breakfast Club crew. It’s just the part about 5 kids meeting in detention that thought they had nothing in common…but really they have more in common than they could have ever imagined. These five kids end up bonding through music and make a difference in their school.
I don’t want to spill too much in case you haven’t been able to see it yet. I can tell you that my girls sing and dance like mad through this movie and they have only watched it about a billion trilllion times. Yea me too., shhhh! I’m thinking about getting me the girls the Lemonade Mouth CD.
The DVD has bonus material including music videos and Rock Along feature.
I received a copy of Lemonade Mouth to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
