Last year was the best Mother’s Day. The girls and I cleared out the flower beds and then made a trip to the nursery. We all picked out our favorite plants and flowers. After we had everything picked out we spent the rest of the day arranging and planting them together.
We all had a great time together, while creating something beautiful that we could appreciate every day.
I plan on doing the same thing every year with the girls since it gave us a chance to spend quality time together. It was also a learning experience for the girls and we try to find education in everything we do.
The pride they took in a job well done was what made it the best Mother’s Day ever. I would much rather have a day filled with fun with my girls than a gift anyday. Memories and time are so much more important than stuff.

This year Lauren suggested that we only plant Red, White and Blue flowers for the Texas flag. I think it’s a great idea and again will give some educational substance to the project.
