We received this DVD just a few days ago.  The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation. Yes, another Christmas movie with Dogs.  I’m sensing a trend!  This is the sequel to the ABC Family original movie, The Dog Who Saved Christmas.

I normally love to watch kids movies, but for me…this one just didn’t keep my interest.  On the other hand, my children loved it.  My little ones anyhow.  They thought it was really funny.  I think it was harder for Morgan and I to get into because it seemed pretty low budget and the acting was not all that fabulous.  I mean, I love a ton of low budget films…it was just the acting mainly that lost me.  It was really weird because a lot of the actors are normally very good.

Starring Gary Valentine (“King of Queens”), Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” Abandoned), Elisa Donovan (Clueless, “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch”), Casper Van Dien (“Watch Over Me,” The Curse of King Tut’s Tomb), and Mindy Sterling (“iCarly,” the Austin Powers trilogy), Adrienne Barbeau (Fly Me to the Moon). Kayley Stallings (“Monk”), Brennan Bailey (My Sister’s Keeper).  It also features Paris Hilton, in her first-ever voiceover role as the poodle “Bella” with Mario Lopez, who returns as the voice of “Zeus.”

The Bannister family decides to spend Christmas in a Rocky Mountain ski lodge with their dog Zeus. When they get there they are surprisingly greeted by extended family and another dog named Bella.

The hooligans from the first movie that had tried to ruin Christmas for the Bannister’s last year are also there and up to their old tricks. They have no idea that the Bannister family is there and have plans to snatch a diamond necklace from a resort guest.

I don’t want to give everything away, but I will say that the necklace ends up as a dog collar for Bella without anyone being the wiser, Bella is taken and let’s just say it’s now up to Zeus to save the day.  It is a cute movie for kids and the younger crowd will enjoy it.
