My Best Fish Friend, Review and Giveaway!

If you are a regular reader you will know that I love educational items. We love science! My Best Fish Friend is fun and science all together!

When the My Best Fish Friend package arrived at our house we were excited to get started. First thing I had to do was get some water and set it outside in the sun to prepare it for our project. Lauren and I made a trip to the store and picked up a small Beta style tank. There is no need for filters while you grow the fish.

The girls had fun preparing everything to grow their new friends! They even were able to grow the food for the baby fish that were about to be born. We’ve done the whole sea monkey thing before, but I had no idea that you could grow fish from eggs at home!

They come in this little thing that looks like a tea bag! Seriously, a tea bag! It was really easy to set it all up. I just watched and took photos as Morgan, Lauren and Emma did it all on their own. I love letting them complete projects on their home. I stand by for help when it is needed, but to be able to do it on their own makes it more special to them.

You drop the magical “miracle pouch” in non chlorinated water and within 24 hours real live baby fish hatch and grow into beautiful colorful fish. Being able to watch the growth process of these fish is amazing. My Best Fish Friend brings new surprises every day, as they grow and change color. It is impossible to compare a live pet, which kids can learn such valuable lessons by taking care of these fish from birth onto adulthood to any other toy product.

This was such an easy project and the kids check on it daily. So far we see one little guy who is growing at a very fast rate. I’m not sure if there are more or not. They tend to hide while so little. The fish we are growing is called a Rainbow Beauty. I tried to take a photo, but it’s so tiny right now that you can not get a good photo of it.

This would be such a fun surprise under the Christmas Tree this year!
