My mom has to eat Gluten free products. She was diagnosed with Celiac Disease some time ago. For the longest time there was not very much to choose from and it made it really hard on her. Lately though more and more brands are providing Gluten free products!
Who needs gluten free foods?
It’s estimated that 1 out of every 133 Americans have celiac disease, which is a chronic inherited digestive disorder that can cause damage to the small intestine.
When a person with celiac disease eats gluten, their immune system is triggered and it begins to attack the small intestine, resulting in damage to the villi which make up the lining of the small intestine. The villi are necessary for the absorption of nutrients. Over time, the damage to the villi can lead to malnutrition.
When I heard that Chex had Gluten free cereals I was anxious to give it a try so I could tell my mom about it. Mom, if your reading this post…this stuff is awesome!
MyBlogSpark sent us a coupon to try it out, I let the girls pick out which one to try. They chose Cinnamon. This stuff is great! The girls have been using it as a snack as well as for breakfast. They love it.
They have several great flavors to choose from that are Gluten free.

I would like to try Mexican Chocolate Brownies I bet I could substitute the butter for the Vegan Gluten Free Smart Balance. So many of the recipes sound great but then they have nuts or dairy in them. This one would be awesome because sometimes you just need some kind of choc taste besides the 98%cocoa stuff I usually suffer through, very bitter and no sweetness at all.
I will grab a mix and the chex and let you know how they turn out.
