My Brain…

Today I went to the eye doctors and picked up all her notes and reports about me.  I also hit the hospital to get my films from when I was there last Wednesday.  They gave me a huge packet that was loaded with films.  There are probably close to 50 films in there.  Some are from the X-rays, the Cat Scan and then the MRI.

The MRI images are amazing! It is so crazy to see your insides this way.  To see every nook and cranny of your brain is just wild!  There are shots from every angle and even slice looking images.  Some of them look like images of an alien…very weird.

I hope they help the Neurologist figure out what is going on with me. I read some of the reports that were included with the film and the things I did understand didn’t sound too great.  I’m trying to prevent myself from googling some of the terms I seen and just wait to see the Neurologist on Thursday morning.  I don’t want to freak myself out even more.

Anyhow, I thought this image was pretty neat and thought I would share it with you.

I do , indeed have a brain…

  14. I would strongly encourage you to get as many medical opinions as practical when trying to figure out things like this. I took my son to 7 different children’s hospitals and there were 7 because it wasn;t until the 7th that they found out what was wrong and fixed. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had not been so insanely persistent. Ofcourse, just prior to this childrens hospital tour we lost a child to medical negligence, so I knew just how incompetent many medical professionals can be and just how hard you have to work to protect yourself and get the truth.

I have all the actual films here at the house. Today is my Neuro appointment and I have to take them to her. So I used my Nikon D3000 and the light in the living room. I held it up with one hand and had to snap quick. They are BIG films. That is just one image on the page. It kept bending as I was taking the pic. Finally I got one that looked pretty cool though. Thanks!

  21. First, know that I am thinking of you and praying that you get your answer soon and you feel better quickly.
Second, I also love x-rays and MRI scans of my brain, neck, and spine. I even suggested to my husband to cut it and use it as a border on the walls of my office because I thought it would look so cool.
I remember looking at them and trying to figure out what things were from my memory of my anatomy and physiology class. I could only do a little…
