Is it Sleep Apnea?

dreamstimefree_168262

I’ve blogged about it before…the Zombies.  They are back in full force.  I’m beginning to thing the J-Man has sleep apnea.  He snores so loudly, then abruptly stops breathing. Scares the crap out of me.  Both parts.  The zombies haunt my dreams form that horrible growly scream snore.

I guess the only way to get it diagnosed is the sleep studies.  Then he would need to get that Darth Vader look going with the CPAP Masks and the CPAP Machines.  My friend has those.  He really sounded like Darth Vader.  It was kind of cool.  Looking into it more, I really think this is the problem.  I guess he would need one of those Portable Oxygen Concentrators so that it could push oxygen in while he sleeps.

Maybe then…I would get some sleep too.

My husband had sleep apnea and has a CPAP machine. He’s 6 feet tall and interestingly, at 201 pounds his sleep apnea shows its ugly face. At 200 pounds it disappears. My husband now weighs 180 and he rarely even snores. I miss the snoring. I know…I’m an oddie; however I grew accustomed to it. LOL
There are medical issues with sleep apnea that truly need to be addressed. I wish you and the J-Man luck with the necessary sleep study. My husband has had two studies and he said they aren’t too bad at all.

If he needs the CPAP go for it. Studies suggest that people with sleep apnea are more likely to have strokes, and using the CPAP decreases the risk of such.
However, my husband is displaying less snoring too since he’s lost weight over the past three months.
