I am on my girls constantly reminding them to wash their hands. They are pretty good at remembering, but with all this sickness going around I want to be sure they are doing it right. Washing your hands seems to be one of the biggest ways to prevent the spread of germs besides becoming a shut-in of course!

Pediatricians, the Centers For Disease Control (CDC), and other experts have established guidelines for washing your hands. They say it is best to wash your hands with soap and clean running water for 20 seconds. Do your kids know what 20 seconds is? I know you are not standing over them every time they wash their hands. So what can you do to help your children with this task that can really help them to not get sick?

The Disney Musical Hand Wash Timers fit on any liquid soap pump dispenser! They feature kids’ favorite characters from movies such as Cars and Little Mermaid! They have music and flashing lights that encourage kids to wash their hands for 20-25 seconds. When the music and lights stop, then they know they have washed their hands long enough. What a brilliant idea. How come I never think of this stuff??

When kids press down on the pump to the soap, this activates the music and lights on the timer. Each timer will last for approximately 1,000 washes! My girls think it is super cool and always show their friends when they visit. I think my kids have the cleanest hands in town!

pirateDM2505_468x456 I think I am going to pick up another for my bathroom as well. I have a suggestion though…could we get a little Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow Pirate action? It could play “a pirates life for me” or something else pirate like! I know I am not the only mom that would buy it for herself her kids. More versions with all new characters and music will be released in the months to come, so I want to get that suggestion on the table!
