It’s very rare that there is a show that the whole family can sit down and enjoy. Spongebob is one of those rare shows that young and old alike can watch together and have non stop laughter. There is humor aimed at all ages in every episode of Spongebob Squarepants.

We recently received Spongebob Squarepants: To Squarepants or Not to Squarepants on DVD. As always, it was a winner that has been watched again and again! This follows SpongeBob after his square pants have shrunk in the dryer. Unable to find a new pair, he tries round pants, but no one seems to recognize him as SpongeBob RoundPants.

This DVD features seven new-to-DVD episodes as well as an animation art gallery featuring storyboard panels and character art.

Synopsis of episodes

To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants: All of SpongeBob’s square pants have shrunk in the dryer. When he goes to the store to buy more, he finds that the store is all out of square pants. With no other choice, SpongeBob tries round pants and no one recognizes him.

Squid’s Visit: SpongeBob is desperate to have Squidward visit him at home, but Squidward declines, as he’s perfectly comfortable in his own home. SpongeBob realizes the only way to get Squidward to visit him is if his house is exactly like Squidward’s house – every square inch of it!

The Splinter: While working at the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob accidentally gets a splinter. SpongeBob is afraid that if Mr. Krabs finds out, he will send him home for his work-related injury. SpongeBob becomes desperate to get the nasty splinter out — but it just won’t budge.

Slide Whistle Stooges: SpongeBob and Patrick are having fun with their new slide whistles and it’s driving Squidward crazy. But after a while, even Squidward can’t deny the fun of the whimsical whistles.

Boating Buddies: In an attempt to get away from SpongeBob, Squidward drives off in his boat as fast as he can. He’s stopped in his tracks when he’s pulled over by a cop and is ordered to go to boating school. Now, Squidward has to sit next to SpongeBob in class all day long and SpongeBob couldn’t be happier about it.

The Krabby Kronicle: When Mr. Krabs notices that the citizens of Bikini Bottom love buying tabloid newspapers, he decides to begin another business venture – his own tabloid. He recruits SpongeBob as his writer, but SpongeBob doesn’t feel comfortable making up stories about other people. Mr. Krabs assures him that making up stories for the paper isn’t lying; it’s using your imagination. SpongeBob discovers that making up stories about the people in Bikini Bottom is a lot of fun – but the people he’s writing about don’t agree.

The Slumber Party: Pearl’s getting ready for her slumber party, but Mr. Krabs’ meddling in the party preparations is getting out of control. Pearl forces him out of the house and orders him to stay at SpongeBob’s house until the party’s over. But that doesn’t stop Mr. Krabs from finding out what’s going on at the party – he sends his best employee, SpongeBob, to be his undercover spy.

Grooming Gary: SpongeBob decides to enter Gary in a pet show, but when he sees how well-groomed and well-dressed the other pets are, he realizes that he needs to give Gary a makeover. Gary isn’t so keen on being primped and made into a pretty show snail, and as it turns out, neither are any of the other pets in the pet show.
