I Love Popcorn, it Makes Me Happy

Comments are now closed!

bg_hdr4We are one heck of a popcorn eating family.  My girls freak out when they hear daddy making popcorn.  He makes it old-school.  A big ‘ol pan, some oil and some popcorn kernels!

I’m too much of a wuss to kick it old-school, even though I prefer the taste much better.  So this mama likes to be safe and throw a bag in the microwave.  I wouldn’t want to burn the house down for some popcorn, so I’ll leave old-school to the J-man.

I also love to add those yummy seasoned flavors to popcorn.  Imagine how thrilled I was when I received a whole lotta’ popcorn making goodies from Kernel Season’s!

  • A bag of stove-top popping corn
  • Three bags of microwave popcorn
  • Popcorn spritzer
  • Six different seasoning flavors

When I opened the box the entire house was in awe of all the greatness that it contained!

Kernel Season'sThis was like the popcorn lovers mother-load!

The Popcorn kernels popped up to be some of the fluffiest popcorn I have ever had!  So much better than the cheapo stuff I buy at the grocery store.  In the long run this is a better value because more of the kernels popped too!

The seasonings…oh yum!  They are fantastic! I love the White Cheddar and the girls went nuts over the Ranch! They even have this awesome Popcorn Spritzer in butter flavor that is zero fat and zero calories! You use it and it makes the seasonings stick to the popcorn better so it does not end up in the bottom of the bowl.  RAD!

The microwave popcorn was awesome as well!  Nice big and fluffy kernels!  Oh Kernel Season’s how I love thee………..

I would love you even more if you made a dill pickle flavor!

Want some?

I learned that Kernel Season’s began in Brian Taylor’s college dorm room at the University of Michigan. I made popcorn every night and created my own personal spice blends to toss into it. Friends and fellow students loved it. People came knocking on the door asking for the special seasonings. I contacted a team of flavor experts with over 50 years of experience to help perfect the seasonings. We tweaked the flavors for over two years until they were just right.

I just tried some Kernel Seasons at the movie theater last weekend… they had 4 different flavors there and I chose the chocolate marshmellow. It was, well, interesting. Perhaps it just didn’t go well with the prebuttered flavor that was already on the popcorn. That being said, I think its a great idea (for naked popcorn) and I’d love to have the whole set to try out at home! I did some research on their website and I had no idea that its actually available for purchase at Kroger, Meijer, and Walmart (among hosts of others) – the very 3 places that I do 99% of my grocery shopping. I plan on picking up some white cheddar on this weeks trip :)

    Thanks for the great contest!

I leaned that there are five different types of corn, and of the5 which are sweet, dent, flint, pod, and popcorn. popcorn is the only corn that pops.

  34. kathy pease says:

Proper moisture level is the reason it’s important to store popcorn properly. Use an airtight container and store popcorn in a cool cupboard. Stay away from storing popcorn in the refrigerator. Air inside a refrigerator contains very little moisture and can cause the popcorn to dry out.

  35. Betty Curran says:

I learned that Kernel Season’s flavors are all natural blends made with real cheese and contain no MSG (monosodium glutamate).

  36. kathleen yohanna says:

I learned that water makes popcorn pop.

  37. mike says:

Popcorn to me has always been insert bag, press popcorn button, consume. I had no idea there was such an in depth popcorn culture! I’d love to be a part of it now that I know it exists – different kinds of corn, different pop patterns, jeez! I thought I was done learning after college! Thanks for the contest!

  38. Lori Walker says:

i didn’t know they had a recipes section… so the flavoring is good for more than popcorn

  39. I also learned that he made similar to these in his dorm. Reminded me of when I was young.
    Thanks for a great sweepstakes,
