Joey Totes Are So Rad!

04.26.2009 by Girl on Fire //

Comments are now closed…winner will be announced tomorrow!

Joey Totes are so radI really love the idea of using reusable shopping bags…however, I hate hate hate the ones that are available at the stores.  They are so stiff and ugly and hard to get around to using.  Who wants to use some ugly bulky tote?  Not me, I’m way too awesome for that.

Joey Totes, now that is a rad bag!  They sent me a set of 3 to run through the ringer and folks…I’m sold!  All 3 of them fold up so small that I can fit the whole lot of them in one of my smallest purses!  I could fit a whole lot of those suckers in there!Joey Totes

Exactly how big are the Big and Small Joeys?

The Big Joey can comfortably carry 4 shoeboxes while the small Joey fits 2 shoeboxes so you can carry both large and small loads. In addition, the handles are not positioned like other ‘t-shirt’ bags. Our bags are designed to fit nicely under your arm or along your side like a purse. Even better, Joey Totes are attractive enough to be used in department stores and boutiques, not just the grocery.

Each bag folds into it’s own built in pouch! (get it…”Joey”??) Then all the bags can fit in the pouch of one bag!  So you don’t have three little ones in your purse, just one! Awesome!

Another thing I love about the bags is how much you can fit into them!  I have two sizes that were sent to me.  The Big Joey Tote and the Small Joey! Very roomy for not taking up very much room in my purse.

A huge plus for me is how easy they are to clean!  You can throw these babies in the washing machine on gentle, or if you have the drive and are not lazy like me….hand wash them!  Just be sure to hang them to dry.

I am planning on purchasing some more of these in the near future.  So far, out of any reusable bag I have used…these top the charts!

Joey Totes LogoI also wanted you to know that they donate a percentage of profits to support the efforts of SOS Children’s Villages, a charity dedicated to helping orphaned and abandoned children. They will also allow you to set up your own personal coupon code in their system that will give your supporters 10% off any purchase they make on the site, plus they will donate 10% of these gross sales to your cause. Now that is pretty flippin’ sweet!

I wish I could offer a giveaway and spread the love of Joey Totes, but alas…no can do. (This post has been updated below with a giveaway!) They did give me a coupon code for you all though!  I picked the code out myself…

“AwesomeMama”

The coupon code is good through the end of May and will give you 10% off of your purchase.  I hope you take the time to go check out this company that is doing great things.  Always love the people who give back.

What doesn’t stand out about these bags? It was hard to choose just one thing to highlight. Finally, I settled for the fact that they are machine washable. All of my supermarket bags, which I hate, have to be hand washed. What a hassle!

Other ways we “go green” around here, I make my own enviornmentally friendly cleaning supplies using vinegar and baking soda (for most things as well as a few other simple ingredients), we recycle, use cloth instead of paper (towels, diapers, napkins etc). We conserve water as much as possible (very important her in So Cal).
