We have been in Texas for over 6 years now…..and had not been to a Rodeo! That changed tonight because we attended the DCYALF Youth Rodeo. Leave it to Texas to have crappy cold weather tonight! We did not stay the whole time because the kids were freeeeeezing!
Morgan made me proud when she climbed over the sides and jumped in to take part in the Calf Scramble. It was funny to watch the kids chasing the calf trying to get it’s flag. Some kids fell in the mud, one kid went flying head first into a lil calf butt.
Our Princess Candidate for our 4H group took second runner up! Congrats Hannah!
Earlier in the week Morgan entered her Chocolate Cookie Bars into the food competition and took home a 2nd place ribbon! Congratulations Morgan! They were so good! I think her dad ate way too many of those! Soon, Morgan will be sharing all of her home run recipes on her brand new website that will be launching by June. I’ll keep everyone updated on that! You will be so surprised at what this kid has in store for you!
We also participated in cleaning up the fairgrounds in preperation for the youth fair, as well as volunteered time at the Concession stands. It was a cold rainy week, but still a lot of fun.
Oh, and last but not least….Morgan has completed reading the first two books of the Twilight series (less than a day and a half on each book!! That kid sure can read)! So, last night we went to the Dollar theater and seen the movie. I enjoyed it and as soon as I post this I am going to sit down and read it as well.
It has been another jam packed week in this household! Tomorrow is chillin’ out and sewing day! For those that have been waiting…I’m working on some aprons for my apron junkies! Stay tuned!
